A buyer's checklist for launching a private-label product line.
Private Label · August 2026
The private-label orders that move fastest from enquiry to shipment are the ones that arrive with a clear brief: target fabric and GSM, fit (regular, oversized, fashion-fit), size range, target price point and expected order volume. Buyers who aren't sure of every detail yet can still start the conversation — our team can help narrow down fabric and fit options based on your target market and price point.
For everyday basics, 160–180 GSM single jersey cotton is the most cost-effective choice; for a heavier, more premium hand-feel, 200–240 GSM combed or organic cotton performs better. Oversized and drop-shoulder fits currently sell well in fashion-led ranges, while regular and slim fits remain the safer choice for corporate, uniform and promotional buyers. We can supply fabric swatches and sample garments before you commit to a bulk quantity.
Screen printing, DTF, puff printing, embroidery and sublimation each suit different design types and budgets — screen printing and DTF work well for logo-heavy designs at bulk quantities, while embroidery suits smaller, premium branding on collars and cuffs. Woven labels, hang tags and custom packaging complete the private-label look and are usually ordered alongside the garments themselves so everything arrives ready for retail.
Minimum order quantities vary by style and customization method, and production timelines typically run several weeks from confirmed order and approved sample to shipment-ready goods — longer for fully custom fabric or packaging runs. Sharing your target launch date early lets us plan production and quality checks around it, rather than compressing the timeline after the order is already placed.
Before reaching out, it helps to have: (1) your target fabric and GSM, (2) preferred fit and size range, (3) branding method (print, embroidery or both), (4) target order quantity, and (5) your ideal ship date. You don't need every answer finalised — send us what you have and we'll help fill in the rest.
